Vocal Ensemble

SuperStars (6-8yrs) – Monday’s 5:00pm-5:45pm
Juniors (9-12yrs) – Wednesday’s 5:30pm-6:15pm
Seniors (13-18yrs) – Thursday’s 5:30pm-6:15pm

Singing is a natural part of all of us; we all respond to music. Gaining skills to express ourselves musically can be an important builder of a young person’s self-confidence. Many students come to MYTP afraid to sing out; we aim, however, to give them the tools to feel good about their abilities, and through this, we are able to help build a sense of self-esteem. Singing is not only about winning competitions and getting the big solo. It is about having every participant working hard to feel they are giving their best effort to the group to create a synergy that makes each singer excel. This sense of group work is the foundation for our classes. Students who are still building confidence are encouraged to join group vocal classes to help them gain the tools to feel more secure when singing. Self expression is an important aspect of these classes. Students are taught to strengthen the voice they already have through many songs and vocal exercises.

Drama Club

Triple Threat/SuperStar (7-10yrs) – Monday’s 4:15pm-5:00pm

This includes but is not limit to: Exploring different styles of stage performance, working on acting skills, and learning tips and tricks for auditions. Take your acting skills to the next level as you develop and workshop more understanding of well-rounded performance and simultaneously work towards a semester end showcase.

Our mission at MYTP is to build confidence and self-esteem at any age creating a well-rounded performing on and off the stage. You’ll spot your Super Star in our end of semester Showcase for family and friends!

Meeting weekly, members will expand dance skills, strengthen performance skills, master lyrics (no singing), and work on character development! Each class will work on two songs/dances throughout the season and perform at our Holiday Concert December 13th or 14th.

Character play introduces beginner, school-ready social skills like taking turns, listening, and sharing ideas in a natural way (with some added theatrical fun!)  We’ll create and use puppets, wear costume pieces, dance with props and so much more!
